It may be a bit unconventional to route for a team that’s not even in the same state, but there’s just something about the purple and gold that draws me in.
Maybe it’s the history of the franchise – from the legendary ‘Purple People Eaters’ defense of the 60s and 70s to the incredible season Adrian Peterson had in 2012, the Vikings have had their fair share of ups and downs. And yet, through it all, they’ve maintained a passionate fanbase who sticks with them no matter what.
Or maybe it’s the players themselves. From the electric energy of wide receiver Stefon Diggs to the calm and collected leadership of quarterback Kirk Cousins, there’s no shortage of talent on the Vikings squad. And when they take the field on gameday, there’s nothing quite like the rush of excitement that comes with cheering them on.
Whatever it is that draws me to the Vikings, one thing’s for sure – I won’t be changing my allegiance anytime soon. Sure, it might be a bit of a challenge to keep up with the team from all the way in Oklahoma, but it’s worth it to be a part of such a dedicated and passionate fanbase. And who knows – maybe one of these days I’ll get the chance to make the trip up to Minneapolis and see them play in person.
